Big Island mother wanted in custodial interference case, 6-year-old daughter found safe in Arizona
Violet Coultas was is under the care of Arizona Department of Child Safety while her mother Sarah Coultas of Pa‘auilo remains in custody, pending extradition to Hawai‘i. They were located in Cottonwood, Ariz., about 100 miles north of Phoenix.

After 80 years, Kuaihelani (Midway Atoll) is once again home to the endangered ʻekupuʻu (Laysan finch).
