The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center canceled the tsunami advisory at 9 a.m. However, Civil Defense is requesting the public to continue to exercise caution in and near the water.
“The earthquake added an enormous amount of energy to the ocean, which has produced strong and unusual currents near the shore and in harbors,” according to a county press release.
Roads that experienced flooding have been cleared of debris.
Residents and business operators returning to their properties are advised to:
— Take pictures to document damage before starting cleanup and repairs;
— Contact your insurer;
— Submit damage reports for your property to county Civil Defense using the website at https://tinyurl.com/7huj3bc4 or via phone at (808) 935-0031.
