PBS Hawai'i - Because of you

Aloha Friends of PBS Hawai‘i,

Congress has voted to rescind federal funding for public media. As a result, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting will no longer receive federal support and stations like PBS Hawai‘i will lose a critical source of funding starting September 30.

But let us be clear: PBS Hawai‘i is here to stay.

Thanks to the dedication of supporters like you, we’ve built a strong foundation through strategic planning, diversified funding and an unwavering commitment to public service. Now, more than ever, we need your help to continue serving Hawai‘i’s keiki, kĹ«puna and families.

Every donation helps bridge the gap left by federal cuts.

Last week, we shared exciting news: thanks to the generosity of The Edmund C. Olson Trust, every donation is currently being matched, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000.

Today, we are humbled to announce even more support. A PBS Hawai‘i Board Member, who wishes to remain anonymous, has offered a second matching gift of up to $50,000.

Together, that’s $100,000 in matching funds, turning your support into $200,000 for local programming, education and storytelling that connects and inspires our islands.

We’ve said it before: this is not a time for panic, it’s a time for purpose. And our community is rising to the moment.

Your support is more than a donation, it’s an investment in Hawai‘i’s future. With transparency and gratitude, we promise to keep you informed every step of the way.

PBS Hawai‘i belongs to the people. And because of you… it always will.

With respect and aloha,

Ron and the PBS Hawai‘i Team

If you’ve already given, we are deeply grateful—mahalo nui loa for your generosity and support.
